Terms of Service

Last updated: [DATE]

1. What this is

bestcountryinthe.world (“the Service”) is a public leaderboard where anyone can make a payment to add support to a country or territory of their choice. The country with the highest cumulative support is displayed as the current “champion.” The Service is operated by [YOUR LEGAL NAME / BUSINESS NAME], [YOUR TAX ID / NIF], based in Spain (“we,” “us”).

2. There is no prize and no refund

Payments made through the Service (“support”) do not purchase any product, service, prize, membership, or right to any outcome. Support only increases a country’s position on the public leaderboard. There is nothing to redeem, win, claim, or receive in exchange for a payment beyond appearing on the leaderboard and, optionally, an attributed message in the public feed.

Because the leaderboard reflects real payments, we do not offer refunds except where required by law (see Section 3) or in cases of a duplicate or clearly erroneous charge, assessed at our discretion.

3. Right of withdrawal (EU/EEA users)

[REQUIRES LEGAL REVIEW BEFORE RELYING ON THIS SECTION.] If you are a consumer in the European Union or European Economic Area, you may ordinarily have a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase under EU consumer protection law. Because support is delivered and reflected on the leaderboard immediately, you expressly consent, at the time of payment, to immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the payment is processed. If this consent is not clearly captured at checkout, EU consumers may retain a statutory right of withdrawal notwithstanding this section.

4. Not gambling, not an investment

The Service does not involve chance, wagering, odds, or any random outcome. Your country’s ranking is a direct, deterministic function of total support received — there is no prize pool, no payout to supporters, and no expectation of financial return. This is not a lottery, raffle, or betting product.

5. Minimum amount and currency

Support is charged in US dollars (USD), with a minimum contribution of $2. Amounts shown in euros (€) elsewhere on the Service are an approximate reference only, calculated at a fixed rate we set periodically — they are not the amount you are charged. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.

6. Public messages

You may optionally attach a short public message (up to 60 characters) to your support. Messages are displayed publicly next to your country and amount. We may remove, hide, or refuse to display any message at our discretion, including for spam, harassment, hate speech, or content directed at other countries, groups, or individuals. Do not submit personal data about others, or anything unlawful, defamatory, or infringing.

7. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction if higher, and able to enter into a binding contract, to use the Service.

8. No warranty, limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is,” for entertainment purposes, without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to the Service in the preceding 12 months.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time by posting a revised version on this page. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Spanish law. [CONFIRM WITH YOUR ADVISOR whether EU consumers may also rely on mandatory protections of their own country of residence — this is often the case and may not be fully overridable by this clause.]
